TAHS Art students GIVE BACK!
TAHS Art students donated their time and talents to finish painting a large USA map and 4-square blocks on the playground at John Wayland Elementary School. They even braved the 95 degree heat to do so! Check out the pictures below of these awesome students in action....
TAHS ART CLUB !!
Art Club Roster 2019-20
The TAHS Art Club consists of students who are either already enrolled in an Art class OR are simply looking for a creative outlet! You do not have to be an Art student to be in Art Club.
Club members meet at least once a month to create and produce art works mostly geared towards community service and fundraising activities. Art projects consist of activities such as pumpkin carving, tye-dying, handmade ornaments, sidewalk chalk drawing contests, and collaborative and team-building art works. During the holiday season, the Art Club also participates in a local "Pay It Forward" art movement, where art pieces and cards are created to be distributed around the community as an anonymous form of "Appreciation" for all they do for the TAHS family.
Ultimately, the TAHS Art Club has fun producing art and allows any student the freedom to be creative!
More pictures of the current school year are soon to come!....

ART Field Trips!!
Each year, the Art Department travels to art galleries and artist studios to allow our Art students the opportunity to further enhance their art education. We have visited galleries such as The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. and the Torpedo Factory in downtown Alexandria. Students LOVE these trips and always return home with a greater appreciation of art and art history that they can then apply to their own personal artwork.
Here is a "sneak peek" of a former trip to Washington, D.C. and downtown Alexandria where students interviewed actual artists working in their studios!...
