Crafts 1 & 2
Crafts 1 can be taken any year after you have completed and passed Art 1. Students will continue to attain an art vocabulary and a further understanding of the art elements and principles. The emphasis of instruction will again be placed on the importance of art production, art criticism, aesthetics, and art history. Student portfolios with selected representative work will be maintained from Art I, and taken to the next level of study. This Crafts course offers a more hands-on approach to projects and is centered primarily around ceramics and working with clay. However, other projects can include crafts such as basket weaving, stained glass, embroidery, fabric works, jewelry making, mosaics, upcycling and so much more. Crafts 2 is a course option after passing Crafts 1.
